Account Manager
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 (depending on experience)
Holiday: 25 days’ holidays, bank holidays and 3 cause days for voluntary commitments
Reporting to: Account Director
Location: Home and London office (Southbank). We are supportive of flexible working; all employees come into the London office on Monday and at least another day a week and as required for client meetings.
Contract: Full time

Training: £500 individual training budget plus team training. We have a core series of training activities for new joiners including client servicing, media training, public affairs training and networking training.
Working abroad: team members are permitted to work abroad for a total of 30 days a year and for a maximum of 2 consecutive weeks (subject to approval of the MD and not during peak times of the year – e.g. Party Conference season).
Early summer finish time: during August the office will close at 3 pm on Fridays.

We are seeking a strategic, highly motivated and passionate manager to join our agency and support client accounts and the Seahorse team.
In this role, you will provide high-level policy insight, account management, political strategy, and communications support to our clients, helping them navigate the complex policy and media landscapes and seize opportunities for impact.
You will play a pivotal role in shaping campaigns that drive innovation, scale sustainable solutions, and secure policy wins that advance nature restoration and the clean energy transition. You will engage with top stakeholders, including government officials, business leaders, and campaigners. You will also support your clients in building their brands and positioning themselves as thought leaders in their sectors

Responsibilities
Maintaining client relationships – identifying challenges, providing solutions quickly and effectively
Project management of client accounts and deliverables
Providing high quality political strategy and intelligence to clients
Developing materials for clients e.g. preparing presentations, research and briefings
Developing and tracking metrics for performance
Ensure premium service to clients
Monitoring news and policy to identify opportunities for clients and new business leads
Proactively researching and networking to seek out new business opportunities
Acting as press office for clients and developing media and social media strategies
Delegating tasks across client teams
Assisting on business development and strategy for Seahorse
Networking for Seahorse and clients
Supporting Seahorse’s marketing activities like the Seahorse Monthly Newsletter
Line management of junior colleagues
Knowledge, Skills, Experience
Essential:
Strong passion and enthusiasm for the energy transition, nature and tackling the climate crisis
At least 3 years’ experience of working in public affairs and communications (or equivalent experience)
Strong political judgement and ability to understand how developments impact clients and Seahorse
Ability to learn about new topics quickly and to get to grips with complex policy issues
Excellent time management
Strong written and verbal communication
High level of motivation and willingness to learn
Positive, can-do attitude
Knowledge of the UK political system
Knowledge of the UK’s environmental and/ or decarbonisation policy landscape
Some media and PR experience
Experience of working with political, media or environmental stakeholders
Project management experience
Alignment with our values
IT skills (we work primarily on Microsoft Teams and Office)
Availability to come into our London office (Southbank) on Mondays (our anchor day) and one other day per week
Desirable:
Previous experience of client facing work
