Kate Weinberg


Kate brings more than 20 years’ of experience spanning sustainability, ESG, corporate purpose and responsible business strategy. She works with clients to shape and deliver ambitious sustainability journeys—embedding purpose, driving impact, and communicating change.

Kate has led sustainability transformations both in-house and as a consultant, leading to her being Highly Commended as a Sustainability Leader of the Year. As Director of Sustainability at OVO, she created and launched the company’s Plan Zero strategy, engaging employees, customers, and stakeholders to drive systemic change and position OVO as a leader in the energy transition.  She led significant organisational change embedding sustainability and purpose across the business.

Earlier in her career, Kate worked as a sustainability strategy consultant, advising clients across sectors on net zero pathways, climate risk and opportunity, ESG reporting, nature and biodiversity, and the circular economy.  She began her professional journey in environmental law and co-founded the LRI, a legal non-profit supporting capacity-building in developing countries for the UNFCCC negotiations. 

Kate holds an MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College London and an MA in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge. She is a Trustee of the OVO Foundation and is passionate about supporting organisations that aim to accelerate environmental and social progress.
