Labour Climate and Environment Forum

Seahorse bring a high level of professionalism and political intelligence to all of their work. They planned and delivered a parliamentary event with a minimum of steer that was instrumental to the successful launch of LCEF. Their knowledge of the political landscape and attention to detail ensured a smooth and stress-free operation at an extremely busy time.

Context

The Labour Climate and Environment Forum (LCEF) was launched late 2022 with the aim of putting the climate and environment emergency at the heart of the Labour movement. To begin its work, LCEF published a report showing public support for this agenda in Parliament.

Our activity

Seahorse was commissioned by the LCEF to organise their launch event in January 2023. This included managing event logistics and invitations to MPs, Lords, affiliates, unions, businesses and NGOs.

Our impact

The event featured speeches from a strong selection of frontbenchers, including Shadow Chancellor Rachel Reeves MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Climate Change and Net Zero Ed Miliband MP, and Shadow Environment Secretary Jim McMahon. The event was well attended across Westminster with over 100 attendees. The event successfully launched LCEF as a new organisation working across the Labour movement to strengthen climate and environmental ambition.
